« OVERSEA JOURNALISTS ENTERTAINED. By Telegraph—Press Association—Oopyrieht London, June 18. The Empire Press Union entertained visiting oversea journalists at a banquet. Lord Burnham, principal proprietor of tho "Daily Telegraph," presided. Lord Curzon, in proposing the toast "Our Guests," said he believed the Imperial idea was progressing; scattered units wore drawing closer together. He had seen in print the fear expressed thnt the Imperial Conference had not reached expectations, but Sir Joseph Ward, who put forward, with intrepid brevity, proposals which hod not been accepted, had informed him that the Conference had marked a great advance. Mr. Geoffrey Fairfax, of the "Sydney Morning Herald," responded to the Toast.
