An investigation has been lipid at the offico of tho British Consul-General at San Francisco (Mr. W. R. Hearn), concerning tho loss of the Pacific Mail Company's steamer Asia on the Chinese cor/it last month. It was found that the third officer, Mr. Johnson, was responsible for tho wreck in not exercising due caution in keeping n look-out. He was censured for his poor judgment in setting so fine a course in such dangerous waters. '
