OUTING POR SLUM CHILDEEN. By Telegraph—Preas Association-Copyright London, June 15. In honour of the Coronation, tho proprietors of the Duncdin "Star" (New Zealand) are entertaining 5000 East End children. Tho first thousand wore,given a picnic in Epping Forest. Sir Joseph Ward sent a message of New Zealand's goodwill. Among those present were Mrs. and Miss Seddon. The latter addressed the children. , REMISSION OP SENTENCES. Brisbane, June IG. The Queensland Government is granting remission of sentences in connection with tho Coronation. HOLIDAYS IN SYDNEY. In the Legislative Assembly, Mr. Wood (ex-Colonial Secretary) moved tho adjournment of the House in order to protest against a motion by tho Government to grant civil servants three days' holiday for tho Coronation. Mr. Wood's motion was negatived, only five members supporting it. A TRADES COUNCIL'S ATTITUDE. Adelaide, Juno 10. The Trades Council has decided to meet on Coronation night, members stating that business cannot be interrupted for such an event.
