DOMESTIC SERVANTS.
LABOUR MINISTER'S IDEAL,
By TcloffraDli—Press Association—OoDyrleht (Rec. June IG, 10.55 p.m.) Sydney, Juno IG. Mr. Bccby, Minister for Education, informed a deputation of ladies to-day that a domestic science collego would be established in a few months. One member of the deputation urged that if the college only succeeded in turning out a few good cooks it would have done something, for at the root of all domestie troubles and divorce proceedings tho word indigestion was written. Mr. Bceby said the object of the college would be to train teachers who would impart their knowledgo to the children attending every important school. He did not think an attempt to establish a college to train domestic servants would succeed at present. He looked forward to the time when a domestic servant would do eight hours' work and then leave. If anybody wanted the luxury of another eight hours' work they would have to get a second shift of girls.
