The demand for recreation grounds Jβ glowing apace in Wellington at the present time. A movement has.just been started among residents of the south' western portion of the city with the object nf having a recreation ground formed on the Town Belt at a spot south of (ho Wellington Bowling Green, between Die Oliiro Road and the Brooklyn tramway. At this plnco a certain amount of planting has already been carried, out and it is claimed Hint if one spur wero removed and a hollow filled in an admirable playing area.would be obtained. The proposal to form the ground is said to command strong support among residents of Aro Street, Mifchelltoirn, l-ppor Willis Street, Brooklyn, and adjacent areas.
