Major-General A. J. Godley, C.8., General Uliicer Commanding tne Now Zealand Forces, lias returned to Wellington li'om a tour of the Hast Coast and Thames districts. On (Saturday next the General will attend the. rehearsal parade lor the Coronation review at Ncwtown Park. On June 20 he will attend the English Public Schools' Old Boys' dinner at Paliiier.ston North.
Mr. li. 31. Mollineaux, manager of the Wellington branch ot the Uanii of New South Wales, has been appointed to succeed Mr. E. J. Finch, as inspector for New Zealand. Mr. Mollineaux, who was born in England, came to Australia as a boy, and was educated at Sydney. He joined the head office of the bank as a ■junior clerk in 18C8, and two years later was appointed accountant at Ravcnswood. Later he was manager at Chiltern, Inglewood, and Kyneton. In January, 1801, he came to Wellington to take charge, and was subsequently appointed to manage the Clirislelnirch branch of the bank, returning here last year. Jlr. Mollineaux, who will bo succeeded at Wellington as manager by Mr. 11. W. Lever (of Napier), will have Mr. W. Birnie as assistant inspector. Mr. W. 11. L. Gnlwey, manager at Masterton, will succeed Jlr. Lever at Napier, and Mr. W. J. 11. Hodskins, manager at Ashburton, will fill tho vacancy at Masterton.
Mr. Edward C. Corliss, ivho was a wellknown actor on the Australasian stngo fiom ten to twenty years ago, died recently at Sydney. Tho deceased player was a former resident of Wellington, and was at one time on the staff of the Telegraph Department. He toured New Zealand on many occasions with Williamson's, Bland Holt, and Frank Thornton's companies, and was valuable in character and "heavy" parts.' Deceased, who was 52 years of age, was a widower, his wife having died about six years ago. His brothers afro Messrs. P. C. Corliss (Commissioner of Stamps), W. B. Corliss (Nelson), J. Corliss, ami J[. Corliss (officer in charge of the Telegraph Department in Wangaimi). Another brother was the late Mr. P. Corliss, of Wellington.
Mr. T. H. Rutherford, associate editor of tho "New Zealand Poultry Journal," Christchurch, is a visitor to the local poultry show.
Mr. Sidney Brice, late manager of tht> Wellington Woollen Co., who has been away in the Old Country for five months, returned to "Wellington by the Mwraki on Wednesday.
