COMMITTEE'S RECOMMENDATIONS,

The Hosnital Committee of the WelHngton Kosnital and Charitable Aid Board met yesterday, Mr. I!. C. lurk presiding. Tho following matters wero adopted for recommendation to tlie next monthly meeting of the board:- _ That the resignations of tho assistnm dispenser, Mr. A. N. Hancock, and-Nurses Barr, Brodie, Hobbs, and Barnard-Brown be accepted with regret. That three senior certificated nurses no. appointed as nermaiient charge nursestwo at Victoria ami one at beddon HosThat steps be taken to get rid.of rats in the ward kitchens. That Mr. A. Thompson's request to withdraw his resignation as carpenter be accepted. That the attention of members of tho board be drawn to the necessity for oV raining full- particulars of addresses of persons applying for admission as patients to the hospital. That Mr. Gordon Breen bo appointed assistant dispenser, That Mr. W. Napier be appointed head gardener at £2 per week and rent of cottage, Messrs. .W. Konin and T. Healey be' second and third gardeners respectively. That 'the secretary bo authorised to prepare a lift of persons whose accounts for maintenance fees are outstanding, with a. view to taking legal proceedings for recoverv of same.

That the" staff bo directed to make a particular effort, to increase the revenue from in-patients.'

That the following quotations bo accepted for lavatory fittings:—Fire-clay baths, Briscoo and Co., at .£2O 18s.; double sinks, Briscoo and Co., at M 35.; closet pedestals, Briscoe and Co., at jSI 55.; lavatory range, E. W. Hills and Co., at .£!) fls.

That it is not desirable that food other than fruit and eggs be sent to patients in hospital.
