A WONDERFUL COW.
The following particulars have been published about a famous Dutch cow:— She is of the East Friesian breed. AVas calved in 11)01, and belongs to a farmer on the estate of Dr. OltmaniL at Meierhof. liear the village of Loga. It is claimed that she holds the world's record for production of milk and butter. After being dry for about six weeks and'moderately. foddered, she gave, from the day Fhs calved (March 13. 1007) to February 28, 1908, 2255 gallons of milk, with 3.5G per cent, of fat, representinj» 83Glb. of butter. She was not a very big cow. On May 11, 1907, when leaving I'or pasture, shft weighed just over llcwt., and on returning (November 10, 1907) 731b. heavier. At the end of autumn, 1910, this cow was Awarded the prize for production at the show of breeders of East Fricsland.
