Messrs. Dalgety rxntl Co., Ltd., Teport having held their fortnightly sale at Upper Ilutt yesterday. Sheep csmo forward well above advertisod numbers, but tho entry of cattle was small. More- than haJf. tho yarding .of sheep comprised fats, and competition for same was very keen, wethers bringing up to 21s. Id. A total clearance was made (with the exception of one pen of ewes) ol both tho sheep and cattlo pens, cattlo making satisfactory prices. Quotations:—Fat wethers, heavy, 21s. Id.; medium, 16s. Gd. to 17s. 9d.; light, Ms. Bd.; fat owes and wethers (mixed), 165.; forward wothers, 113. 9d. to life.; two-tooth owe 3 in lamb, 135.; small hoggets, 4s. 9d.; springing cows, £7 10s.: cows in calf, £3 9s. to £5 55.; springing heifers, £6 55.; weaner heifers, 2<J3.; twenty-months steers, £3 11s.
Messrs. Dalicty anl Co., Ltd., report:— At onr Palmerston sale yesterday a fair yarding of 6tock can:o to hand. Small wether lambs made up to ss. Bd.; 6mall ewe lambs, to 6s. IOd. ; miscd-ago ewes, to 6s. 7d.; empty ewes, 6s. 7d.; forward ewes, U> 10s. Ltd.; store cows, £2 6s. to £3; wcancr stoers, £2; springing heifers, £b, £5 95., to £6 10s.; dairy cows, to £5 IDs.,- light-fat cows, to £5 11s.
The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., report:—Wo held a very siiccrß.sful sale of dairy stock on account of Mr. A. Broadbelt at Kongotea on Tuesday. The cows were mostly Jlolstein and HolEtein-crofs, and, being well known as a- good herd, they were keenly competed for, prices running up to £13 10s. The 37 sound cows offered mado the good average of £9 17;. 6d.: threc-teaters sold from £3 "s. 6d. to £7 15=.; potters, 2Cs. to 505.; heifers, £5 ss. to £9; fat cows, £5 55.; Holstein bull. £10; Shorthorn bull, £4 10s.; n-cancr bulls, 20=. to £2 10s.; weaner heifers, 355. to £2 23. 6d. At Falmorston North on Thursday we had a moderate
entry of ehcep and cattle. Sheep were in bettor demand, and rattle r.olcl at lato rates. We quote:—Sheep: Store ewes, 7?. W.i aged ewes, 6s. Od.; cv,-es in lamb, I2s. Cattle: Weiiurs. 21s. tn 265. 6d.; yearling steers, £2 2s. Messrs. Abraham nnd Williams, Ltd.. report:—At our P.ilraerston North sale, held on June 15. we had a fair entry of both sheep and cattle. Sheep-met with a keen demand, every lot selling tinder the hammer at prices in favour of vendors. Cattle were dull of sale, owners' reserves in most cases being rather hiifh. Wc quote:— Empty ewes, Bs. Bd. to 10s.; two-tooth wether?, Jls. 10d.; mixed hocrscts. os. 2d.: small. 4s. 3d.; cull cwos, 4s. sd.
