By I'dlecraph—Frees ABeociation-Oopyriehl Melbourne, June 14. Continued heavy rain has caused serious floods in Gippsland. Many dwellings aro not now habitable. Enormous damage has been done to winter feed crops. Onions and potatoes in the pits havo been destroyed. Farmers wore forced to remove their families. The eastern half of. Gippsland is dcsorted. The Tarra is higher than it has been for ten years. It has overflowed its banks in several places. Many vegetable gardens near Melbourno have been destroyed. SEVENTT-FIVE PERSONS KILLED BY LIGHTNING. New York, June 13. There have bsen four electrical storms since Saturday. Those killed are estimated at seventyfive. Tho value of the property destroyed is not yet known. A storm at Philadelphia did much damage. Several persons were killed. MEXICAN TOWN WASHED AWAY. Mexico City, June 13. Twenty persons are reported to have been drowned in the washing-away of Santa Eulnlia, an important silver-raining town fifteen miles distant from Chihuahua. Heavy rains caused a flood. ■
