Wilson 114 24 90 BOWLS. NORTHERN ASSOCIATION. A meeting of tho Council of tho Northern Bowling Association was held in tho Wellington Club's pavilion, last night. Mr. J. Keith (vice-president) was in the chair. An "Exhibition" Tournament. The Exhibition Sports Committee, wishing to run a tournament' for ten days from June 2G, asked tho approval of the association of the proposed tourney. It was explained that there would be about two hours' play a day. It was said that the annual meetings of the bowling clubs fell about the timo proposed for the tourney, and that the attendances at tho meetings would probably bo affected. In reply to a suggestion to put the tournament back a week Mr. Ballingcr said that there were other arrangements tn consider. Later he said that probably they could put something else forward. On tho motion of Mr. T. Bush it was decided to grant the permission to hold the tourney under the association's rules, and to suggest a later date. Alleged Unstamped Bowls. A member of the Onehunga Bowling Club wrote at length complaining that in somo matches he had played nn opponent had used unstamped bowls.
