THE WAIHI DISPUTE.
A V MEETING OF THE FEDERATION . EXECUTIVE. [By Telegraph—Press Association.) Wailii, June 10. The following resolutions, unanimously passed at a mass meeting of miners on Wednesday Inst, have now boon officially supplied:— "That, in view of the uncompromising attitude adopted by the mining companies' representatives at the conl'creuce yesterday, and your delegates having exhausted all tlieir efforts to effect reasonable concessions at- thesaid conference, we immediately hand over the question to the New £calniia Federation of Labour. ''That, in view of the undue, criticism levelled against the policy of the union by irresponsible persons, and the etfort to form a 'scab 7 union, this mass meeting of-AVaihi Miners and Workers' Union express their confidence in the union officials ami the policy of the New Zealand Federation of Labour." The "scab" union refers to a union that was in course of formation for registration under tho Arbitration Act. Westport, June 10. Local members of tho. .Federation of Labour executivo have left for AVcllingtoj to attend a meeting of the executive in connection with. .the; Waihi mine trouble.
The executive of the Miners' Federation met in Wellington yesterday- to consider the position in connection with the AYaihi mines. The business was not concluded, .and tho meeting will continue to-day. Questioned as to tho position of affairs last night, Mr. Scrapie told a reporter that there was nothing to say on the matter at that stage.
