SinmAllY AND FORECAST. Tho centre of a cyclono of small intensity has passed through Cook Strait, and apparently modilled the front of the Antarctic disturbance now due from tho westward. The aspect is, however, still ominous, and a southerly storm will probably follow after about thirty-six hours. This is likely' to be preceded by a smart fail in the barometer in the south. Present indications are for ?. falling barometer everywhere, strong northerly to westerly winds, mid unsettled weather. A decided change is to be expected before Monday, a southerly gale: with cold and stormy weather, rain and snow on high levels in the south, with it rapidly rising barometer. D c . BATES .
