COMPENSATION AWARDED.
HUTT ROAD WORKS.
Tho decision of the Compensation Court in the claim of .Elizabeth Lindsay Murphy against the Minister for Railways, for ,£750 in respoct of land, near Ngaliauranga, taken for the Hutt Eoad and railway works, was delivered yesterday. Tho case was heard last Thursday. Mr. Justice Sim presided, and tho assessors wero Messrs. A. H. Miles (for the. respondent) and,A. L. Wilson (for the claimant). Mr. F. G. Dalziell appeared for the claimant, and Mr. W. H. D. Bell for, the respendent; '
The Court, in the decision announced yesterday by tho president, awarded the plaintiff .£575 in full satisfaction of all claims, with £10 costs against the Minister for Railways. His Honour explained that, this compensation had been assessed on tho basis of an acre of laud, and the deprivation of access, and allowance had been made in respect of interest' for a •period of about four years. Each a=se c sn'r should receive a fee of XlO 10s.. to be paid by each party.
