TRAMWAY APPEAL BOARD.

The Tramway Appeal Board dismissed the appeal bv Henry Carter, motorman, against his dismissal by the Auckland tramway Company on the ground Hat he deliberately disregarded a special notice as to the observance of the rule regarding moving cars backwards, and was guilty of gross negligence in not anplying the power 111 the manner directed Mr. iiosser, in a minority renort, dissented, contending that the punishment was too severe for the offence. Mr Kettle, S.M., said if the Appeal Board was to continue assessors must bo absolutely independent and free from interest oil either side, with which remark other members of the board concurred
