RECIPROCITY BILL.
APPEAL BY MR. TAFT. By TeloEraph—Press Association—Copyriebt (Rec. Juno 8, 0.30 a.m.) Washington, Juno 7. Mr. Taft has appealed to tlio Democratic Senators to reject Mr. Root's amendment to the printing papor clause in the Reciprocity Jiill. It is now believed that the Democratic Senators do not intend to combino tho Reciprocity Bill with tho Tariff Free List Bill, as was originally 'thought probable, us tho Democrats bad declared that tho Bills would be united in order to 6ecuro tho passage of reciprocity. The Senate's final voto is not expected until July 14. A poll of editors taken by tho "Chicago Tribune" in twenty-two States, shows that public sentiment largely favours re« ciprocity. RECIPROCITY AND WOOL DUTIES. Washington, Juno G.
It is understood a Wool Bill report has been submitted by the Democratic members of tho Ways and Means Committee, and that it sharply criticises Mr. Taft, the Republicans, and the Tariff Board.
The Reciprocity Bill is to bo amended, the change affecting paper and wood-pulp products.
