PERSONAL NOTES FROM LONDON. '■ London, April 27. The wedding of Miss Nellie Russell, Auckland, to Viie Earl of Ilardwicke, Jakes place this aitemoon at St. Peter's, llaton Square. Mr. and Mrs. G. Palairet, of Gisborne, are at present in London. They intend leaving for New Zealand in October by the Moldavia. Mr. and Mrs. A. A. Martin, of Auckland, arrived in London last week on a plcasuro trip. They spent two months on the Continent on route. Mr. G. E. Jellyman, of Auckland, who arrived by the Ursova, and is at present in Gloucestershire, will stay in England till the end of June, returning to New Zealand by way ot America. Mr. Harry Randall and Mr. George Hnase, of Wangauui, arrived by the Orsova, and intend staying in London for twelve months, later visiting the Continent, Canada, and the United States.

After thirty-seven years' absence, Mr. Alexander MUtae, of the Waikato, who is a native of Ross-shire, is revisiting the Old Country, and goes shortly to Scotland, ■returning to London for (he Coronation. Mr. and Mrs. W. G. Rankin, of lnvercnr"ill, arrived hero by the Athomc. Mr. Rankin's mission is mainly to get iresli blood for bis Ayrshire herd in IScw Zealand, lie intends returning to New Zealand by the Corinthic on May 25. Dr J. Drummond, late of Napier, has been appointed clinical assistant to Sir Thomas Fraser in the Royal Infirmary, Edinburgh. Ho was captain of the Edinburgh University cricket eleven, and has been succeeded in that position by Mr. G. V. Bogle, another Zsapier man.. ' Mrs R Spence, of Christchurch, and her daughter, Miss Mary Spence, who arrived by the Athenic, lclt London last week for- Belfast. They will return to loiidon. for the Coronation, and visit tho Continent-antScotliind before leaving on their return to ChVistchurch early in September. Mr. and Mrs. Edward Anderson and Miss-Anderson, of Wellington, arrived by the Athonic, and, after a short stay .in Devonshire, aro now in London lor a month or so. Afterwards they will pay some visits to friends in the country, returning to London for the Coronation. It is probablo that they will return lo Now Zealand by tho Moldavia in October next.

Mr. and Mrs. G. Tapper, of Wellington, who arrived early in April by the Macedonia, leave London this week to spend a fortnight in Devon and Cornwall; and thence go to Chester to stay about a month- with Mrs. Tapper's relatives. Probably they will go from there to Liverpool, tho Isle, of Man, and Ireland,- returning to London for the Coronation.

Mrs. W. Seymour, of Gisborne, is visiting England on a pleasure trip. She left New Zealand fifteen months ago, travelling by Suva and Honolulu to Vancouver and New York, where they spent three months. They arrived in England about a year ago,. and Mr. Seymour returned to Now Zealand in January last. Mrs. Seymour is visiting relations in Surrey ami North Devon.

Mr. A. J. Davey, of. Wniroa, Hawke's Bay, is revisiting the scenes of his boyhood at Banipton, Devon, after an absence of thirty-three years. He came to England principally to sec his mother, who is eighty-eight years of aso. He leaves on his return to New Zealand by the Athenic on Saturday.

Sir Charles C. Bowen, who is at prosent on a visit to tho Old Country, has accepted tho invitation of the Committee of Lords and Commons to be their guest at tho Coronation festivities. All the great railway companies, thirteen in number, have placed free passes at the disposal of the committee's colonial guests and their relatives during their stay—a concession which is without precedent in this country.
