CARTERTON

An unpleasant experience befell Miss Feist, daughter of Mr. F. Feist, of Carterton, on Sunday. In company with a lady friend she had been out riding, and when returning home tho horses bolted, crashing into a closed gate. Miss leis was thrown to tho ground, and sustained rather severe injuries. A sharp shock of earthquake, .travelling from west to east, was felt in Carterton at three o'clock on Monday.
