The Westport' Boxing Association's tournament concluded on Saturday night in the presence of a large gathering; the takings on the tivo dnys totalling about „-?123. The '-amateur events were well contested. A six-round bout between Pruct (Millerton) and Lynch (Westport) was won by the. former. The professional bout, AV. Cootes (Westport) v. "Jack" Griffin (Grevmouth) for a purse of 230, .went the full fifteen rounds, and was won on points by Cootes. This was : tho best performance "that has taken place in the district. A special medal, presented by "Dave" Smith to the competitor in the amateur events giving the most scientific disnlav, ■was won'by Senior, a Westnov't lad.
