Murdering and pillaging in many parts of the Republic arc causing a reign of terror. Several governors havo resigned, and other officers arp abandoning their offices. Food prices aro very high. Tho outbreaks are duo to tho failure of General Modern's commanders to control their subordinates. General Madera is en route for here,'aud better conditions are expected when ho assumes power. General Madero, the insurgent leader, was entertained at a gorgeous ball in tho Customs House ballroom at Juarez. It was there.that Presidents Taft and Diaz, met in 1909. After tho ball General Madero left immediately for Mexico City. Hundreds of well-armed Yaqui Indians have been mobilised in tho Yaqui River country. They aro demanding tho restoration of their lands.
