They were passed by tho Customs, but afterwards Pithcrs was examined in bankruptcy, and he then swore that the goods that had been brought over wero valued at least at ,£2OO. Tho defence staited the Government had seized tho aeroplane for non-payment of duty. Tho magistrate, in imposing a fine, said he did not think there had been any attempt to defraud the Department.
