The council further decided to appoint a representative to watch its interests during the tnurnament, and to approach Mr. Parker, of Christchurch, with a view to his appointment. In connection with the gate receipts, the council resolved that 5 per cent, of the net receipts should be paid in to the council. Tho New Zealand Referees' Association is to be asked to appoint officers to control the Otago-Canterbury match, the date of which has yet to be fixed. It was agreed that the matter of the New- South Wales team visiting New Zealand be deferred till the end of the season, when arrangements will be considered for a series of matches next year. The New Plymouth Club wrote a letter in which the Taranaki Association's method of Conducting its business was adversely commented upon. The council .referred back the letter, with a minute to the effect that correspondence from clubs to the council should be forwarded via the a&odation to which the club was affiliated.
