Dominion Museum, June 1, 1911. PARTHENIA AT MELBOURNE. Tho U.S. and A. Line steamer Parthcnia, which arrived at Melbourne on Monday evening, from New York, is coming on to Nev; Zealand, via Sydney. The vessel is expected at Wellington about June 20. TO LOAD AT MONTREAL. The Shaw, Savill aud Albion Company's steamer Karamea, due at London tliis month from Auckland, will on discharge proceed to Montreal, where eho will load under the auspices of tho New Zealand Shipping Company for Australian and New Zealand ports. She is expected to leave the Canadian port about Juno 15, and is due at Sydney early in August. OPAWA IN POET. Early this morning the New Zealand Shipping Company's steamer Opawa arrived here from Lyttclton, to load cargo for London. The vessel is to leave for riapier and Tokomaru Bay to complete. She has all her coal on board, and is taking a full cargo of frozen meat, wool, grain, etc. She will be the first steamer to make Tokomaru Bay her iinal port of departure for London. The vessel leaves Tokomaru Bay on June 6, and is due at London about July 19. THIS WEEK'S SYDNEY BOAT. At 2.20 p.m. yesterday, the Aorangi anchored in the stream from Sydney, and, after pratique had been granted, berthed at the Queen's Wharf at 4.25 p.m. Tho vcs6el left Sydney at 7.30 p.m. on Saturday, May 27, and cleared Port Jackson Heads an hour later. Fine weather was experienced until Monday evening, when a strong north-westerly wind with high seas and rain squalls was met with. This weather lasted till Tuesday evening, after which fine weather was encountered until arrival at Wellington. About two o'clock yesterday afternoon, the New Zealand Shipping Company's steamer Turakina, from London and Plymouth, via Tenerilfe. Cape Town, and iiobari, anchored in the stream, aud, after medical inspection, berthed at tho Glasgow Wharf at 3.25 p.m. The vessel left London at 1.40 p.m. on April 13. and had a splendid run down channel to Plymouth. She left, the latter port on April 15, and put into Tenoriffc on April 20, leaving the same day for Cape Town. During the trip down the Atlantic, light south-east trades and a smooth sea were experienced till arrival at Capo Town on May 6. Moils and passengers were embarked at ihe South African port, and the vessel continued her voyage. Moderate seas and wet weather were experienced on the run across the Southern Ocean. Hobart was reached on May 25. and, after 416 tons of cargo had been discharged, the vessel resumed her voyage to New Zealand about half-past six on tho morning of May 27. Fine weather was met with on the run across tho Tasman Sea until early on Tuesday morning last, when a north-east gale with moderate seas was encountered, which lasted practically till arrival at Wellington. Mr. Mudio, who has seen 22 years' service with the company, was to leave his ship on arrival at Vancouver and proceed . Home via New York, reaching Glasgow about tho middle of June. Tho little steel barquentine Alexa arrived • at Sydney on May 20 after a passage of ■ 16 days from Wanganui. On discharge of her cargo of timber she proceeds to Newcastle to load coal and timber back to Wanganui.
