Sir T. A. De La Rue died recently at his residence in Cadogan Square, S.W., of heart failure. Born in 1810, Sir Thomas founded tho firm of De La Rue and Co., which held the contract for the making of postage stamps until recently, and which is widely known as manufacturers of playing cards. Mrs. Van Cottle was fond of the bottle, ' But pray don't imagine that she Was addicted to drink, for I really don't think She imbibed any stronger than tea. But the bottle she swore by and set so much store by Was one that you value, I'm sure, On the label was "Woods" to distinguish the goods— 'Twos the famous "Great Peppermint Guru." I
