ANNUAL MEETING. , . There were about thirty members present at the annual meeting of tho Pahia-tua-Akitio A. and P. Association. Mr. J. C. Cooper (president) was in the chair. In. the .course of the annual report it was stated .that there was a credit balance in the bank at the end of the financial year (March 31) of .£59 17s. 2d., ind assets . exceeding liabilities by .6195 ss. /id. There had been ah increase in the membership. "Tho question of selecting a , showground site nearer town was the subject or considerable discussion during the last few months, your committee being unanimously of opinion that tho present ground was too fnr removed from the railway station and the borough. Eventually it was decided to advertise for offers for a site. Of the properties submitted yCi'ar committee was of opinion that the two most.suitable sites wero a portion' of Messrs. Smith and Dawson's property, on Hall's estate, and a piece of Mr. W. Yule's land near the borough bridge. The matter, however, has been hung up pending an offer from Mr. W. Yule, who is negotiating with the owners of the land. ,, ■. :
Tho treasurer (Mr. G. A. Burgess) stated that ivhon outstanding moneys were collected there would be a credit balance of .£123. In speaking to the motion to adont 6he ■ annual statements, Mr. J. C. Cooper acknowledged the great indebtednessof. the association to the Pahiatua Racing Club for the use of tho racecourse for the show, but said that tho time had come when it was necessary to hold tho society's Withering in a" locality more convenient to the town and railway.
