The resignations of President Diaz and Don Ramon Corral, Vice-president of the Republic, were officially announced in the Chamber of Deputies. , When the letters from both wcro read fhere were demonstrations in the streets, which showed that tlio people were pleased. Olio deputy said that General Diaz's good deeds would outweigh his mistakes. "President Diaz is dead; long livo Citizen Diaz!" was tho popular cry, on tho announcement being made. LOOTING AND FIGHTING. STRIFE CONTINUES IN COUNTRY. (Rec. May 29, 0.30 a.m.), Mexico City, May 28. Bands of insm-rectos, who were unaware that pcaco had been arranged, killed several chiefs of police in tho interior. Hundreds of persons, on tho verge of starvation,' aro looting and burning stores in tho country, and a stalo of chaos prevails., A number of Federal troops were slain and Government officials gaoled after tho towns surrendered to the rebels.
