SIGHTED DAILY NEAR AKAROA. (By Telcßraph.-Snccia! CorresjoniienU Chrlstchurcli, May 26.
A project is on foot to establish the whaling industry in Akaroa Harbour During the past three weeks over 40 whales, including several right whales, have been sighted within three miles of the coast, between l'eralci and Akaroa and, during the past week, whales have been, sighted daily A meeting is to bo held with the idea of floating a company, and, if successful, a plant will be immediately procured, and a start made as soon as possible. In the meantime boats' crows are being formed, and other details arranged.
