FIRE IN MELBOURNE.

Tbe outbreak originated in tbe top floor of Wateon's Chambers in Flinders Lano and spread, gutting tbe third, fourth, and fifth floors in which were the offices of different firms. The damage is estimated at over ,£20,000. There was considerable anxiety for a time ns the neighbourhood is densely packed with big buildings. The firemen woro in great danger owing to falling roofs ajid ceilings. The insurances iucludo a policy in the National Insurance Company for .£201)0,
