Mr. J. G. Gilbt'i-d, for very many years .superintendent of the Napier Fire Brigade, and secretary of Ihe United Firo Brigades' Association, was a visitor to Feilding this week. M'lnlyrc, Thomson, Colliiigwood, and Montgomery. Empire Day was observed with a. small show of pomp and ceremony at tho two schools in Feilding yesterday morning, and a holiday was granted- for. the rest of the day. ' The chairman,' Mr. Hugh M'lntvre, and Mr. Geo- F.ilznatrick (of the school committee) gavo brief addresses at tho District High School, and Mr. Fred.
