THE BUTTER POSITION.
NO MOVE YET. It was expected in Wellington that a move would be nindo in-the butter trado yesterday, but so far as can be gathered nothing concerning tho public lias happened yet.
A meeting of representatives of firms concerned in the wholesaling of tho article was hold yesterday,'but no agreement was arrived at, and the result, it is said, is that the proposed rise in the price will not take placo immediately. It is'reported in Wellington that tho wholesale prices of butter iirChristchurch have been put up to 13d. and 13Jd. Tho prices in' Wellington are 12d. and 12Jd.
