The weekly meeting of the Wellington Jtugby Referees' Association was held last evening, Mr. H. E. Card presiding. ..A letter was received from the sccrethe St. John's Ambulance Associntion, stating that referees might join the Ambulance classes, commencing next Friday, at the reduced fee of 'ss. for the course. The secretary was instructed to reply that the Referees' Association would fall in. with tho suggestion, and that (saveral members would attend the classes. "Mr. ,F. Laws offered to secure tho services of an instructor for half an hour on Monday evenings for the beuefit of those members who could not attend the St. John Ambulance classes. It was Unanimously decided to accept the offer. THOSE PETONE GROUNDS, ''NO FINALITY" YET. ' x At tho meeting of the Petono Borough Council last evening there -was read a letter from. .the,, Wellington Busby Union, wnveying tho 'iinibri s dissatisfaction over the delay which had taken place in the settlement of the terms of the lease of the football 'grounds between the' council and tho union.. The union alsp submitted certain amendments to tho draft agreement of lease, the main point being tlie proviso that if tho council declared its No. 1 ground unfit for play, the Rugby Union would play elsewhere the senior match fixed for th"e ; Petone, ground, but would the 'fixturo as being still one of the senior matches given to Petone. ' Mr. R. C. Kirk, solicitor to the borough, advised the council that the suggested amendment: was quite' foreign to tho original terms of the lease, and .would involve tho loss to Petone of a senior match whenever the ground was unfit for play. Mr. Kirk's report was adopted, and it was decided to acquaint the Rugby Union accordingly. TO BE KINEMATOGRAPHED.
