CANON JONES, OF SYDNEY. By Telesrapli—Pre3s Association-Oopj-firtt Sydney, May 22. Canon Nathaniel Jones, principal of the Moore Theological College (Anglican), is dead. Tho health of Canon Jones had been causing grave anxiety for some time pari. At the opening of the college, at the beginning of tho present term, his health broke down, and he was ordered absolute rest from actual work for a year. Canon Jones iras.edncated at Oxford Univorsity. He took his B.A. degree (first-class theological school) in 1880; M.A. in 1689; fellow of the Australian-College of Theology, 1901. He was ordained deacon in 18S6, and priest in 1888. He was curato of New Wortley, Leeds, 18SG-87; Portartington, 1888; minister of Tarnagnlla, 1888-93; minister of White Hills, 1893-97; principal of l'erry Hall, Bendigo, 1891-97. He was appointed principal of Moore College, Sydney, in 1897, and canon of St. Andrews Cathedral, Sydney, in 1902. MR. E. M. GRACE. London, May 21. The death is announced of Mr. Edward Mills Grace, eldest brother of Dr. W. G. Grace. Edward Mills Grace was born at Downend, near Bristol, in 1811. ne was actively associated with the Gloucestershire County Cricket Club from its foundation onwards. He played his first match when ton years old, in ,1851, and in that year took 22 wickets and scored 250 runs; from 1851 to 189!) he took 10,000 wickets, and scored 72,182 runs. His highest batting aggregate was'in' 1883, when ho scored 31GG in all\ matches; his best, bowling year in lfifiJ, when lie look 370 wickets. He was tho first amateur to go to Australia, being a member of George Parr's team in 1801 (in this tour he scored 209 runs in thirteen innings). He figured (with W. G. and G. F. Grace) in the first England v. Australia match in Great Britain, at tho Oval, on September G, 7, and 8, 1880, scoring 30 ("W.G." scored 152).
