HARRIERS.

1 . Although it was wet on Saturday, the Wellington Harriers enjoyed their outing from tho residence of Air. C. .1. Ellison, of Mirarnar, at the invitation of the captain. With a muster of. twenty, the pack, under the ccutrol'of C. Lamberg, started out after the hares, AV. Press and C. Duck, who laid a course along the tramline to the junction across tho sands to Lyall Bay, and back on to the Seatoun Road, lionie. The run-in was won by L. Salek, with F. Pinckney second, and F. Cowberry third. After refreshments, the company were entertained by Mr. C. J. Ellison, Mrs. W. J. Stevens, and Miss Ellison, Messrs. C. Lamberg and L. Salek also contributed to tho enjoyment. Next Saturday's run will be from Te Aro Baths and tho following Saturday an all-day outing will bo held.

The usual weekly run of tho Brooklyn Harriers was held from Thornddn Baths on Saturday afternoon, and despite tho inclemency of the weather 17 members took part. Tho hares for the day were P. Wilton and A. Barnes, who laid a trail from the Baths along the Hntt. Road and up the. Ngahauranga Gorge and over the hills into Khandallah through Ngaio and back to the starting point. The pack was under, the control of J. Don. Instead of the usual run-in being held, it was decided to hold a teams' race over the last two miles. The competitors were sorted out intc three teams, A, B, C, respectively, under tho control of F. Byrne, C. Murray,- and E. Shaw. From an even start C. Murray took the lead, closely followed by F. Byrne and J. Don. When the railway crossing was reached at the end of the Esplanade Murray had to stop on account of a passing train, which allowed his opponents to draw up on him, and F. Byrne just managed to get home by about a yard, with C. Murray and Don finishing'next. The result, of the teams' race is as follows:—Tho C team gained first'place, with an easy win, securing 27 points, while the A and B teams'finished a dead-heat, with iG points each'. The run next Saturday will take place from Brooklyn at 3.p.m.
