The floating dock is to be built at onco at the firms English works, and will, it is hoped, bo ready next season for the accommodation of the largest of tho ships failing up the St. Lawrence. For nearly a year tho Harbour Commissioners hayo had estensivo excavating operations in progress for the preparation of the site, , six largo dredgers and various land excavating machines having been continually nt work.
