STEAMER IN A GALE.

. (By Telcsiraph-Prctt? Association.) Gisborne, May 20. The south-easerly galo continues with occasional' heavy showers and a high sea off the const. Tho Union steamer Squall is sheltering in Tolaga Bay. Tho captain reports that the funnel is damaged and likely to collapse before roaching Gisborne. This is due to the excessive heat generated by steaming against tho wind and the force of tho gale.
