Pius X warmly thanked the generous Frenchmen for aiding an enterprise which tho dignity of the Cathedral of Christendom lias rendered necessary. Tho Holy Father on the same day received in private audience tho Countess Maria Theresa Lcdochowski, Directress of the Society of St. Peter Clavcr, niece of tho great Pole, the late Cardinal Lcdochowski, who suffered so much for the Faith.
