Southerly winds stroiiß to pale prevailed northward of Cape Campbell and Farewell Spit, with much rain in parts, especially on the East Coast and southern districts of the North Island. Tho weather has continued cold and fine on tho West Const of the South Island, but. unsettled and showery in other parts. Little change reported in barometer. Present indications are for a Elov.ly-rising barometer in the north, hut a fall s-oon elsewhere. Strong southerly winds backing k> westerly, northward of Farewell and Kailioura. and westerlies moderate to slrong elsewhere. Showery and changeable weather is probable generally. D. C. RATES.
