BOXING.
WELLINGTON ASSOCIATION. A meeting of tho Executive Committee of tho Wellington Boxing Association was held at Armit's Rooms last evening for the purpose of setting in traiu the preliminary arrangements for coming tourneys. It was decided with regard to the amateur tourney that a sub-committo should interview the Exhibition Sports Committee as to the terms under which the tourney could bo arranged in tho Exhibition. With referenco to the competition to be held at the Opera House either on Juno 11 or July 3, it was stated that thoro was a probability of arranging a match between "Sailor" Duffy and Kelly ("Dave" Smith's sparring partner). Somo discussion took place with regard to tho tourney to be held in the Town Hall (on a dato to he fixed), and it was decided to open tho ball with a big star event. Tho secretary was instructed to write to Australia for two first-rank men —"Billy" Elli(.tt and "Frank" Fitzjohn, for preference— tho idea being to put on the best light-weight or feather-weight scientific boxing turn yet seen in New Zealand.
