HOME FOR NURSES. Tho foundation-stone of tho largo extension of tho nurses' quarters at tho Auckland Hospital lvas laid on Wednesday afternoon by his Excellency tho Governor, says tho Auckland "Herald." The function was attended by a very largo gathering of the public, among whom v.cro the Mayor and several of the citv councillors, Bishop Crossley, and Bishop Cleary. The brickwork of tho building is well towards completion, and tho foundation-stone will form the base of part of a central portico, It bears tho inscription: "This stono was laid bv tho Eight Honourable John Poynder Dickson-Poyndcr, Baron Islington, K.C.M.G., D.5.0., Governor and Commander-in-Chief of tho Dominion of Now Zealand, and its dependencies, May 17, 1911. P. M. Mackay, chairman of tho board.''
