Aγ the Supreme Court to-day Theodore Frederick Scott w.v, charged with having stolen (at Pahnorston South) a sura ot' .£7 [is. from the dvellinghou:;o of Harry Louie, a Chinese fruiterer. Accused was found guilty of stealing £2 ilds., to tho theft of which he had confessed, and the jury strongly recommended him to mercy on account of his youth, and owing to , tho Chinaman having kept the money in a place where the lud had knowledge of it, this constituting temptation. Sentence was deferred. Auckland, May 18. At tho Supreme Court, Mr. Justice Edwards granted decrees nisi in tho following divorce cases:—Louisa C'arr v. John Thomas Cavr, on the ground of desertion; Robert Ballantine v. Harriet Ballantine, desertion; Mary M. Finlayson v. John 51. Finlnyson, desertion; Fredk. G. Brunlin v. Jessie Brunlin, desertion and misconduct; Edith J. Ilankius v. Hiuiry A. Hunkin?, misconduct and neglect; Michael Davern v. Margaret Davern, misconduct willi Hankins, defendant ii\ previous case; Catherine Since v. Gcorßo Edward Since, fuiluro to provide; Charlos Jl. Fisher v. Charlotte Fisher, misconduct with Ernest Osman.
