DOMINIONS' ACTS OBJECTED TO BY SHIPOWNERS.

By Tcleerarh—Press Association-CopyriEUt London, May 16. Mr. Sydney Buxton, President of the Board of Trade, to-day received a deputation of shipowners in reference to colonial legislation. Mr. Norman Hill, of Liverpool, urged that shipping should be regulated by Imperial legislation. He declared th.it the- idea of colonial legislators endeavouring to enforce whatever Acts they chose to pas? was absolutely appalling. Mr. R. Dunlop, of Glasgow, said that many of tha proposals in the Commonwealth Nasivation Bill were contrary to Imperial law. Mr. Buston, in reply, said that as ho would discuss these matters with the overseas delegates now in London to attend the Imperial Conference, it would bo improper for him to express his news now. He promised, however, to bear the deputation's statements in mind.
