THE EXHIBITION.

SPORTS "COMMITTEE MEETS. A meeting of tho Sports Committee of the Coronation Exhibition was held at the Stadium last evening, Mr. A. Marryatt. presiding. It wa's resolved to ask Mr. ll.' N. V'Lcoil to attend the next, meeting'of fho committee, with a view to discussing a display to be given by the Boy .Scouts. It was decided to write tho commanders of 11.M.5. Pioneer and Cambrian, suggesting that a naval display should be given on June 12, and June 22. Tho question of a military display on June 22 will be discussed at. next meeting. Mr. Marryatt stated that tho Wellington Boxing Association had been asked io arrange for an exhibition of boxing. No definite answer had been given, but a committee set up by the Boxing Association had visited tho Stadium yesterday, and (hey seemed to entertain the proposal favourably. They had promised to communicate with the Sports Committee very shortly.

It was decided to holt] a tenuis singles championship event, and, with this object, the Now Zealand Tennis Association is being asked for tho necessary permission. The first same of bowta will be played on the afternoon of Saturday, May 27. It was decided that, when the Stadium is disengaged during (ho day, Karnes of bowls or tennis may he indulged in on payment of sixpence per game. Juno 13 and July 11 were allotted as dales to Mr. J. W. A. Harrison, whoso pupils are giving a gymnastic display. All athletic and football clubs are to be circularised, and asked to take part in the sports to be held on Wednesday, ?ilay 21. The events to bo got off are:— 50yds. Football Championship, to be rim in club colours; One Mile 'Walk; Ten Mile Harrier Marathon Race; Bucket and Potato Race.

On condition that eight teams enter for the tug-of-war competition, prize? of ,C 8 and .£7' will be allotted for first and second places.

At flic next meeting the rmestion of holding a grand masque and fancy dress ball and a- pastor compel ition on Ihe opening night will bo considered.
