SULTAN APPEALS FOR HELP
» . SITUATION IN FEZ CRITICAL. By Telegraph—Press Association—Oopyricnt Paris, May 15. The l . Sultan of Morocco, Mulai Hand, has dispatched a further urgent request for French assistance, declaring that the situation in the city of Fez is becoming daily more critical. Major Bnillavd's artillery dispersed attacking tribesmen, and the forco is continuing its march. Meanwhile constant skirmishes are 'tailing placo in tho vicinity of the French camp, at tho mouth of the Seta liiver, which passes closo to the beleaguered city,
Convoys from Meliodia were attacked, but the French artillery, aided by pallant charges by tho Spahis, repulsed the rebel tribesmen.
