The following resolution has been unanimously carried by a meeting of tbe Federated Seamen's Union:—"That m view of the number of 'rodents' killed on the steamship Kosamowl this month by Ihe process of fumigation, being over '.'Oil in No. 1 hold alone, and in order (o protect tho health of crews and the public generally against the many diseases spread among tho community by this class of animal, especially plague, the Minister for Marine be requested to formulate, and strict);- enforce a regulation under the Shipping Act, providing for the periodical fumigation of all ships owned or resristcrcd iu tho Dominion at least once in. each lis months."-
