CANADIAN THISTLE EXPERIMENT.
A southern paper says:—"Principally _ to assist the dairy factory, of which they ! are directors, to .get rid of the surplus whey, two South Hillend farmers experimented with it as a Canadian thistle exterminator as some purely theoretical farmers have pronounced it. The exneri- ; ment cannot be described as wholly n !' success, for though the grass is covered \ -when spread is now dead, tho thistles ; evidently enjoyed the drenching for they tiro looking almost at their best. Another theoretical cure for the pest ex- ; ploded arid another illustration of the f ■Jiarcliness of th'e'C'anadian thistle." ""•• -
