In Oxford Street, Regent Street, Drompton Koad, Sloane Street, Ckcapsidc, and bond Street is particular prominence given to British manufactures and products. At ono hig shop alone X200,0U0 has been, spent in ordering special goods. On tho opening day, despite tho inclemency of tho weather, thousands of shoppers thronged the big emporiums in tho \\'est find and tho city, and tho scenes were siich as are only ordinarily' observed at Christmastide. It is understood that an enormous business has been done, and not only has there been an increase in the amount of British goods sold but in tho total volume of trade.
