[Br Glemcoe.] The Egmont Racing Club's meeting takes placo at Hawera to-morrow and Thursday. T. Wilson, the Awapuni trainer, is at present in Melbourne on a holiday trip. Tho winner, of the hurdle race at Hawera will incur a penalty for tho Century Hurdles at Wanganui should ho happen to be entered for the latter event. Latest English files to hand state that Mr. J. B. Joel's colt, Sunstar, is first favourite for the English Derby. Lovell and Wimme.ra are tho favourite combination for- the Wanganui Steeples and Century Hurdles double. Merrivonia was only started on the first day at Hastings, and was railed home to Trentham on Saturday. In all probability sho will leave for Wanganui next Saturday, and have her last run this season at that meeting. Whakaweira and Reuinac, who won hurdle races at Hastings last week, are, not engaged in the Century Hurdles at Wanganui. Neither horse has incurred a penalty for tho Great Northern Hurdles. Turna, who is owned by Mr. H. "Whitney, but is trained at l'orirua, will accompany- Ahuapai and Whatakura on their southern.trip. The trio will leave for the south on Friday night in charge of. V. Cotton, whilo the light-weight, L. Traill, will also make tho trip to ride tho two flat horses. The Auckland horseman, S. Lindsay, who recently went to Sydney in charge of a couple of ponies, has resumed riding, and has already had several mounts, though, so far, he has not succeeded in winning a race. Appin is the first horse to incur a penalty for the -Century Hurdles at Wanganui. The Possible gelding's weight for that event is now Ost. 101b. Tho ancient Black Reynard is still pegging away in races round Sydney, but ho is now a "light of other days," and is generally in at the minimum both in flat and hurdle handicaps. At tho Canterbury Park meeting on May G. ho ran third in the principal handicap. The Elder Stakes—a w.f.a. event over nino furlongs—was decided on tho lirsl day of the Adelaide meeting, and was won by that good performer, Trafalgar, who was half a head in front of Eyeglass. Tho latter came nut on tho second day, and defeated a good field in the Adelaide Cup. Tho Sonll filly, Snfcwfoot, which lias been racing for some time past at tho Sydney suburban meetings, was recently sold to a West Australian purchaser. She has been a bad bargain for her book-maker-owiier, and did not fulfil the promise which sho gave when racing as a 'wo-year-old in Auckland.

Golden Cairn, after winning the Tozer Welter on the first day of the Wnrrnambool Cup meeting, cumc nut next day and carried off the Ladies' Bracelet at the WarrnamboGl Amateur Turf Club's fixture, and then, on the third day, ran second in the Warrnambool Cup, carrying Sst. 81b., including 71b. penalty and :ilb. overweight. Konald Cameron, the ex-Now Zealander, rode Gay Bob to victory in the Warrnambool Cup (one mile and three furlongs) on May 'i. Gay Bub was a warm favourite, and the win was very popular. Three days later Cameron rode LHirdans to victory in the two-year-old race at Caulfield. lie is having quite a run of success at present. On the day that lie rode the winner of tho Wnrrnambnol Cup, another ox-New Zoalander, J. N. M'Gregor, had the winning mount on Confederate in the Steeplechase. A Sydney'exchange says that ''Lady Medallist left recently for a spell at Penrith. It was at first intended lo nice her at Brisbane, hut her new owner has decided to reserve her for the linndwick and Flemington Spring meetings." It. Marsh, who trained such a number of winners for the lnte King Edward, is strongly opposed to the Tod Sloan seat,

They were all equally good horsemen and fine jockeys. H. Cutts, J. Franks, and K. J. Mason brought their teams from tho Ilawko's Bay meeting last night, and left by the Maori en route to Jlicearton. At the end of the present week Cults will leave with a new team for the North Otago Jockey Club's meeting at Oamaru. A yearling bv Treadmill from Sunglow was shipped south last night in charge of R. J. Jlason. The youngster came from the Waikanae stud. Returned visitors from Hastings state that Bandiera had the worst of the luck in the Ifawkc's Bay Stakes, or be might have reversed position with Koyal Scotch. It is staled that Antarctic has been scratched for the Wanganui Steeplechase. Jack Delaval failed to get under tho pony standard at Auckland on Saturday. Loch Fyne is to leave Ellerslie for Wanganui to-day to fulfil engagements at the winter meeting next week. The vetpran steeplechaser, Irish, has been thrown out of work as he pulled up a trifle "groggy" after a recent' schooling essay at Ellerslie. The secretary of tho South Wairarapa Trotting Club notifies that, through an error tho naino of Weroa appeared in the list of nominations for the Tamahau Mahupuku Trot and Kempton Park Trot. The name of Hamapuku was omitted from the Kempton Park Trot. Kelso, the one-time hurdler, is now being used as a hack by his owner, Mr. Allen Donald, of Featherston. FIXTURES.
