LYALL BAY MYSTERY.
From inquiries made by the police yesterday, it is learned that a man, named Jones, who came to New Zealand by the steamer Euapehu, deserted that vessel in these water?. An endeavour is now being made' to find someone who knew Jones, and v;ho niav possibly be able to identify the clothes found ou the beach at Lyall Bay oh Saturday morning.
