STUDENTS AND CHANCELLOR
HOOTS, GROANS, AND WEIRD MUSIC. By Teleeraph--Press Association—Copyrijht. (Rec. May 15, 0.15 a.m.) Sydney, May 11. Having been barred by the University Senate from holding the usual commemoration (procession, the undergraduates, pressing a varied assortment of vehicles into their service, paraded the streets, pnd gathered in the vicinity of the Chancellor's house in-Macquane Street. Here a noisy serenade took place, consisting of topical songs mixed with weird musical sounds, hoots, and groans. A small squad of police eventually restored harmony. During the day the Chancellor was inundated with a curious assortment of gifts from students, ranging from a; live sheep to a pianola, with wood and coal enough almost to stock a shop.
