Miliar has telegraphed that he finds, on inquiry, that Slav 24 will not bo observed as a holiday in the public offices, that June 3 will be observed ns the King's Birthday, and that Juno 22 (Coronation Day) will no doubt ba generally observed throughout the Dominion. Also that the Government lias decided that therewill be. no observance of the anniversary or tho Heir Apparenl's birthdav (Juno 23).

The Chamber of Commerce, at its last meeting, decjfied to leave tho matter of nwrmimendirig the date on which the King's Birfhday should bo celebrated this, year—that- is whether it should be Saturday, June 3, or Monday, June s—to a sub-committee. The latter has decided to recommend the observance of tho holi- , day oa Saturday.
